Our work is inspired by the spectacularly enigmatic world of the ancient Gallovidian Picts, and the landscape and heritage of Carrick. The majority of our work is fired to stoneware temperature (1280 to 1300 degrees centigrade), usually in a reduction atmosphere. We blend our clay bodies. All of our glazes are made to our own recipies, often incorporating hardwood ashes from locally grown timbers in sustained woodlands. From time to time we make for the Raku kiln, decorative pieces with wonderfully elusive colours and textures.
